Lost Draw Cellars Expands Its Legacy in the Heart of Texas Wine Country

William Chris Wine Co., based in Hye, has officially brought its vision to life with the opening of the Lost Draw Cellars winery and tasting room in Johnson City, just east of Fredericksburg. What began construction back in 2022 has since blossomed into a stunning 9,260-square-foot space that’s become a favorite stop along the Highway 290 Wine Trail.

Designed by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, the new winery features both public and member tasting rooms, a covered porch overlooking the vineyards, a retail store, barrel storage, offices, a kitchen, and an outdoor bar—perfect for savoring Hill Country sunsets.

Since opening, Lost Draw Johnson City has become a vibrant gathering place for wine lovers exploring the ever-growing Texas Hill Country wine scene. As the fall tasting season hits its peak, it’s the perfect time to stop by, raise a glass, and celebrate Texas wine’s continued rise.
